DecomAfrica takes data privacy very seriously.  We always manage data responsibly and never share data with any third party.

DecomAfrica only holds and processes data where the company has a legitimate interest, this largely revolves  around keeping our clients, relevant industry professionals who will benefit from our products & services, industry professionals who have shown an interest in DecomAfrica or similar products to DecomAfrica, informed about our product & services.

All client data is held and processed on an electronic CRM system in order that the company meets the highest standards in terms of data security.   Holding data on an electronic system also enables clients to have control and a choice.


DecomAfrica Legitimate Data Criteria

DecomAfrica will only hold the necessary information on clients or relevant industry professionals who will benefit from our products and services or have shown an interest in DecomAfrica or similar products to DecomAfrica which enables us to do 4 things;

  • Profile relevant contacts that can be targeted for products that are relevant for their position.
  • Carry out sales and marketing communication.
  • Track their interaction with the company.
  • Record any preferences. e.g. unsubscribes

Therefore we will hold details such as name, company name, company type, job title, contact details,  region of interest.  For clients that have attended a DecomAfrica event we will also hold past transaction history.


Processing of Data

Only data that meets the company’s data criteria will be permitted to go onto the CRM system.

The data may come from the following sources

  1. From individuals entering information on our website(s)
  2. Client attendance at our events or training courses.
  3. Targeted research carried out by DecomAfrica staff members.
  4. Data provided by a third party client for the purpose of promoting their event.
  5. Targeted research data coming from relevant third parties.  (This data will require a Company Director to review and approve before it goes onto the CRM system)

The CRM system will provide the facility to ensure that each individual record is clearly tagged with both Opt-in and Unsubscribe status for the company as a whole.
The Company will only carry out email marketing campaigns using data that is on its CRM system.


Rights of Individuals

  • Have the data corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Have data erased from DecomAfrica Website
  • Restrict how DecomAfrica processes their data

Types of communications

This includes, but is not limited to; invitations to our industry-leading events and webinars, our latest assets (whitepapers, guides, reports, infographics, videos and case studies) and promotional offers on related services.

You can also stop receiving emails from us using the unsubscribe link options, also found in the footer of our emails. Please note, changes to preferences and unsubscribe options will not affect service emails we are obliged to send to you, once you have registered for an event, for instance.
